Alpha Delta Pi Presents Wonderland: A Change in Heart

I was offered the wonderful opportunity to be a Sing Chair for Alpha Delt Pi for the Spring 2020 All-University Sing Season. Here I learned how to collaborate with others and especially those outside of the theater world. From inception to performance, I was instrumental in making the entire act happen which came with many challenges and triumphs.

COSTUMES

Finding easy-to-make and affordable costumes was no easy task, but I learned what it takes to outfit a cast of nearly a hundred people. I also got to flex my creativity in coming up with looks inspired by the iconic Alice in Wonderland.

PROPS

I was required to submit full renderings and statements of intent for each and every prop we desired to use in any capacity months before rehearsal even started which forced me to make decisions early and commit. Additionally, I was on my own in terms of construction, Meaning I handled costs, labor, and materials. I learned a lot from this experience that I continue to use.

BACKDROP

Painting a 60 x 30 ft backdrop can be daunting, but I learned to break it down and delegate simple tasks. I also managed the costs, labor, and materials necessary for this as well.
